Welcome, Dear Soul 🦋.
If you have found your way here, perhaps something inside you has been searching, maybe for words, for understanding, or simply for the quiet feeling of not being alone.
My name is Leonie, and I am a psychologist working in counselling and psychotherapy. This blog is a space for trauma healing, mental health recovery, and survivor voices expressed through paintings and poetry.
There was a time when my life felt like a landscape of ashes, and it still does sometimes. I carried wounds that had no language yet and walked through places where hope felt very far away. For a long time, I did not know how to belong in this world without disappearing. But somewhere beneath the silence, slowly, piece by piece, something inside me began to rise again.
Along that way, I learned to listen to the lion inside me, to hold on to laughter, and to let humor guide me even through life’s messiest moments.
This blog was born from that ongoing process.
Here you will find paintings, poems, and reflections on healing, resilience, and the courage of survivors who keep moving forward, even when the path is uncertain. While some of the poems are rooted in my own experiences, they also carry echoes of many other stories, the voices of women and survivors whose journeys of healing deserve to be seen and heard.
Most of all, this space exists for one simple reason: So that anyone who arrives here might feel this truth for a moment: You are not alone.
This is a not-alone.space
A space for survivors.
A space where even from ashes, life can begin again.

With warmth,

You are not alone!
We grow together like flowers, over obstacles, sometimes crooked and twisted, but always towards the light.
